Roll forming machines. To shape profile continuously from coiled sheet.

The roller design is set for each target cross-section.

The more different sections you work, the more relevant the tooling change time becomes.

Buying guide

Which roll forming machine do you need?

The roll forming machine shapes metal profile continuously from a strip or coil of sheet, which passes through a series of roller stations until it reaches its final cross-section. It’s a different process from bending, which starts from a profile already manufactured.

01

Strip width and final cross-section

The starting criteria are the width and thickness of the starting strip, the final cross-section you need to shape, and the line speed your production volume requires. The forming roller design is set for each target profile, so there’s no universal machine for any cross-section.

02

Tooling change between references

Switching from one profile to another means replacing the roller set at the different stations. The more different sections you work through the year, the more it’s worth weighing the tooling change time between series before deciding which equipment to buy.

03

Roll forming or bending?

If your profile already exists and what you need is to give it a curved geometry, the right family is tube and profile bending. Roll forming and bending are complementary processes: the cross-section is defined first, and then, if the part requires it, it’s bent.
