Contactless laser tube cutting. For complex geometries and frequent reference changes.

Straight cuts, miter cuts, bevels, holes and marking in the same operation.

In very long runs of a single simple geometry, the cut-off machine tends to be more cost-effective.

Buying guide

Do you need laser tube cutting?

Laser tube cutting works without a contact tool: a programmed head follows a path over the part, allowing straight cuts, miter cuts, bevels, holes and marking in the same operation. This is what determines whether it suits you better than conventional mechanical cutting.

01

Complex geometry or a mix of references

Laser is justified when the part needs holes, notches or bevels that would require additional operations with mechanical cutting, or when you switch references frequently and it doesn’t pay to keep specific tooling for each one. For very long runs of a single simple geometry, a cut-off machine usually turns out more cost-effective per part.

02

Material and CNC control

Stainless steel and aluminum require different cutting parameters from carbon steel, which is worth confirming with the equipment manufacturer before deciding. CNC control is inherent to this technology: it lets you program complex geometries and repeat them without manual intervention between parts, with the same result on every unit.

If you’re not sure laser is the right option for your part, compare all the alternatives at tube and profile cutting, where the differences versus the cut-off machine are also explained.
