Vertical-drop and tilting cut-off machines. For tube and profile, at any level of automation.
Manual, semi-automatic, automatic and CNC-controlled.
Aluminum requires a different disc and feed speed than steel and stainless steel.
Which cut-off machine do you need?
Choosing a cut-off machine depends on three things: what you cut, how much you cut, and what finish you need. A workshop with short runs isn’t the same as a continuous production line. These are the key points to get it right.
Vertical-drop or tilting
- Vertical-drop: the head descends straight onto the part. Maximum precision on regular-section tube and repetitive cuts. View vertical-drop machines
- Tilting: the head pivots on an axis when cutting. More section capacity and easier miter cutting. View tilting machines
Steel, stainless or aluminum
- Steel and stainless steel: accept similar cutting parameters; most of the catalog is prepared for both.
- Aluminum: requires a specific disc and feed speed to avoid burrs and heat buildup. View machines for aluminum
How much automation you need
- Manual: the operator controls feed and clamping. Lower investment, ideal for short runs.
- Semi-automatic: the cutting cycle runs on its own; the operator loads and unloads. The most common balance.
- Automatic: integrated bar feeder, cutting and evacuation. Reduces cost per part in continuous production.
- CNC: numerical control that removes setup between runs. Pays off quickly if you change size often.
Cut-off machine or another cutting system?
The cut-off machine cuts with a disc: speed and finish on small and medium sections. For complex geometries, bevels or holes without tooling, consider laser tube cutting; to see all technologies, visit tube and profile cutting.
